A television series with Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston was one of the harbingers of Apple’s big TV offensive, which now includes nearly 20 exclusive TV series. In the momentum of the many announcements of the new series, however, it became quite quiet around the early project. Well hasagain a sign of life of the still unnamed series spies. For example, the production team has found a director with Mimi Leder who understands something about her profession.
Apple’s “Morning Show Drama” is making progress
Mimi Leder has directed a variety of TV series. Among other things she is responsible for “The Leftovers”, “Shameless” and “ER”. For the big screen, for example, she took care of “The Luck Principle”, “Peacemaker” and “Deep Impact”.
For Apple’s “Morning Show Drama” Mimi Leder will now take over the direction of at least two seasons with 10 episodes each. Based on Brian Stelter’s 2013 book “Top of the Morning”, the series takes a look into the murderous world of morning television. Stelter’s book is based on the rivalry between NBC’s “Today” and ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston will not only act as actresses, but will also co-produce the series. They also own some of the rights to the show. Witherspoon and Aniston are reportedly “more than“Received per episode.
Apple was able to get the TV rights to the series already last yearwith which the “Morning Show Drama” together with Steven Spielberg’s ” “Were the first known series of Apple’s TV offensive.
