Seagate is mainly associated with traditional. This manufacturer, however, decided to try again on the SSD media market and presented new Seagate BarraCuda SSD models. What can we expect?
The new series includes 2.5-inch media in four capacitive versions: 250 GB, 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB. The manufacturer declares transfers up to 540 MB / s with readout and 520 MB / s at recording, as well as the number of I / O operations per second up to 90,000 IOPS.
The exact disc specification has not been disclosed. You can, however, suspect that the Seagate BarraCuda SSD series is based on modern 3D TLC NAND memories.
The Seagate BarraCuda SSD models have been covered by a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty. An additional advantage is to be an attractive price – this is respectively:
- Seagate BarraCuda SSD 250 GB – $ 75
- Seagate BarraCuda SSD 500 GB – $ 120
- Seagate BarraCuda SSD 1 TB – 230 dollars
- Seagate BarraCuda SSD 2 TB – $ 500
The availability of media is expected for September (earlier you will be able to get them in the Amazon store).
