Synology launched the DiskStation DS1618 6-bay NAS with an Intel Atom C3538 processor. For technology enthusiasts and small to medium sized businesses, the DS1618 + is an interesting all-in-one solution for file handling, application hosting, data backup and real-time collaboration.
DS1618 + is equipped with a quad-core Intel Atom C3538 processor and 4 GB of SODIMM DDR4 memory without ECC support, with the possibility of expanding to 32 GB using ECC SODIMM dice. Storage capacity can be increased up to 192 TB when connected to two DX517 expansion units, providing a rapidly growing company with a storage solution that gives you the ability to scale with their activities.
With Synology’s M2D17 PCIe card, the DS1618 + can accommodate two SSDs with an M.2 SATA interface, taking advantage of the SSD cache to increase maximum bandwidth and reduce latency. By installing the network interface card in the PCIe slot, the DS1618 + supports up to two 10GbE ports with a maximum bandwidth of 1551 MB / s during reading and 586 MB / s during recording.
The DS1618 + server works on DiskStation Manager – an advanced and intuitive operating system for Synology NAS devices, offering access to applications that improve data security and work efficiency.
To provide up to five years hardware warranty, you can purchase an additional Synology (EW201) extended warranty service with the DS1618 + server, available in selected regions around the world.
