At the Mobile World Congress 2018 in Barcelona we certainly will not see the new Xiaomi Mi 7. Instead, the Chinese manufacturer will present Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s – more changed than it may have seemed.
At the upcoming mobile electronics exhibition MWC 2018 in Barcelona, the new Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will be presented. The network has just released a new device render that suggests that Mix 2S can be a smartphone with a record-breaking ratio of the screen surface to the size of the front panel. Attention is drawn to the interesting placement of the front webcam. The lack of a fingerprint reader also suggests that it will be placed under the screen. It looks like Xiaomi can create something more than just upgrading your new Snapdragon 845 chip and 256 GB of data storage.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S earlier appeared in the AnTuTu benchmark ranking and easily took the first place, outclassing all previously tested smartphones. This is due to the new Snapdragon 845 mobile system and … the application itself, which seems to favor new systems with each subsequent update.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S in the updated benchmark AnTuTu received a score of 270 461 points, overtaking the current leader, iPhone 8 Plus from Apple by more than 50 thousand points. Unfortunately, the new version of AnTuTu takes measurements in a completely different way than the previous version. Smartphones operating under the control of Android 8.0 Oreo are favored, which score higher than in the previous version of the app, and the results of devices working under the control of older versions of Android are much lower after the update.
If confirmation finds other rumors, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S can be a Chinese answer to the iPhone X … literally. Photos published by the Chinese leakster “Ice universe” reveal that the smartphone has to have Apple’s characteristic “notch” at the top of the screen. The question is whether this element of design is worth imitating? Thanks to this, Xiaomi could move the front camera lens to the speaker area, which would be a much better place than the right bottom corner of the front panel.
